We all know that laughter is the best medicine. Regardless of the situation, a good laugh offers much needed reprieve. The film industry understands this hence the reason for constant release of rib cracking comedies. Some people are generally much better at making others laugh. Seth Rogen is undisputedly one of the ones that are better than making people laugh.

This year, he seems to be employing his power of ‘funny’ even more to give his fan base the laughing fits they deserve. He has already started us of with the lion king where he does the voice of Pumbaa. Well we are bound to see more of his goofy charm in The Long Shot, a product of Summit Studios, that is set to be released on the 3rd of May this year.

In this romantic comedy, Seth Rogen plays Fred Flarsky; a struggling journalist who like, Rogen is full of charm and goofy humour. As he tries to make his way through his career, he reunites with his childhood babysitter turned business moguel, Charlotte Field; played by Charlize Theron.

Unlike Flarsky, Miss Field is a witty, business serve, and successful woman with a liking for politics. She shocks those around her by hiring the trouble-loving Flarsky and trusting him with the responsibility of writing her speeches as she runs for presidency. Thanks to his love for trouble, Flarsky gets Miss Field in a number of dangerous situations as their working relationship develops into a romantic one.

The combination of goofy and witty helps to keep the audience thoroughly entertained. The film shows a lot of promise in becoming a worthwhile investment for the studio. This is especially after the high rating it received from its first screening that resulted into the released date being pushed to later year. The critics on rotten tomatoes clearly agree with the test audience and have scored it a whopping 91%. With the innate comedic character of Seth Rogen and the beauty and wit of Charlize Theron, these ratings are well deserved.

Charlize Theron is in her own right a force in the film industry. She is an Academy award winner, Golden Globe award winner not to mention the fact that she has received a silver bear for the best actress. Other names you will expect to see in this film include, Andy Serkis, O’Shea Jackson, June Diane Raphael, Bob Odenkirk and Alexander Skarsgård.
