Tennis superstar Serena Williams has finally sold her Los Angeles home after having it listed for up to 18 months. The house was sold for $8.1 million on 12th April 2017. Williams was looking to cash in $12 million from the home when she first listed it in October 2017. According to public property listing records, it was put on the market for the first time in January with a price tag of $9.995 million. Williams bought the home for $6.62 million in 2006 under a trustee. The trustee was her sister Lyndrea Price. Therefore, she has no loss on the home, although it was sold for less than what she was initially seeking.
The house was sold through a buying agent named Fred Bernstein from Westside Estate Agency. He has declined to reveal the buyer of the house. He, however, revealed that the buyer had eyed the home for a very long time. Speaking to paparazzi Bernstein said that the buyer liked the property because it was one of the largest lots sitting on a Stone Canyon. During the sale, Williams was represented by Amit Lalji from Keller Williams of Beverly Hills and Gregory Piechota. They have both declined to respond to any inquiries though.
The property was built back in 1935, and it sits on a 2.76 acres of land. The house has 6,101 square feet of space. It features 6 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, and an additional common bathroom. It is a traditionally styled home with a bar, a swimming pool, private hike trails, and a cabana. All these had been put down in the listing.
The home is perfect for entertaining a lot of guests. It has a large living room that can hold a large number of friends and family. Most of the rooms in the house are lit naturally. The house has floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that usher you into the impressive gardens outside. The house was listed with leather soft and velvet armchair furnishings. It also included a magnificent piano place conveniently by the windows. The kitchen is quite spacious as well, and it features modern appliances. There are a double oven and a stainless-steel fridge.
Williams has not responded to any communications concerning the sale as well. Williams has been the world’s No. 1 female singles tennis player a couple of times and has won 39 major tournaments over the course of her magnificent career. She currently lives with her husband Alexis Ohanian, who is the co-founder of Reddit.
