A Palm Beach spec house that is just 2 miles away from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club is on sale. The owners of the property are a real estate family that claims to have ties with the president. They are seeking $44.5 million for the property. The President loves to visit this Mar-a-Lago club for vacations. Corey Schottenstein is the representative of the Ohio-based Schottenstein Real Estate Group. It is a family run real estate company. The company has been developing the property. Mr. Schottenstein said that the proximity of the property to the president’s club would make the property more attractive to buyers.
According to Schottenstein regardless of the everyday politics that go on, most people would love to live right across from the president. In his first year in office, Donald Trump is estimated to have spent approximately 40 days at his Mar-a-Lago club.
The Schottenstein family, who have been vacationing at their Palm Beach properties for years claim that they know Donald Trump personally. Mr. Schottenstein said added that his parents have the Mar-a-Lago club membership. Apparently, Corey and brother Brain Schottenstein served as Republican electors in the 2016 presidential elections. Corey says that he is normally not a very political person, but the agreed to participate in the election after being requested to by Trump’s campaign team.
The house on sale is still under construction though. It has 13100 square feet of space. It is one of the largest houses on the Everglades Island. The outdoor consists of 4000 square feet of living space as well. The whole property sits on a 1-acre parcel of land that runs across the island. It provides mesmerizing views of the waters and has a dock on both ends. The house is built around a courtyard and has 6 bedrooms, a gym, a temperature controlled wine room, a rooftop terrace, and a pool wrapping towards the back of the house.
According to property records, the Schottenstein family bought the property in 2016 at a price of $12.15 million. The property sits on the Intracoastal Waterway and it’s just aside the main island of the Palm Beach. According to Mr. Schottenstein, getting approvals for the building was not easy because they had a contemporary design. It is a very unique home sitting in a strategic position in the Palm Beach. Mr. Schottenstein insists that they seeking to ensure the house stands out from the rest. Christ Deitz from William Raveis is the listing agent in charge of the property.
