A Beverly Hills property once owned by Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston is now on the market. The estate has been listed for $56 million. The estate was designed by renowned Hollywood architect Wallace Neff. The house was extensively remodeled by Brad and Jennifer from the initial design though. It is a large estate with approximately 12000 square feet of space. It was built back in the 1930s.
It is believed that Wallace Neff first designed the home for actor Fredric March and actress Florence Eldridge. Neff is a renowned home designer who made his name by building some of the most prominent estates in Hollywood’s Golden Age. Susan Smith from Hilton and Hyland is the listing agent in charge of the estate’s listing.
March and Eldridge would later sell the home to Philanthropist Wallis Annenberg. The house was bought from Annenberg by entertainment attorney Ken Ziffren. Public records show that Brad and Jenifer bought the house from Ziffren at a price of $13.5. They also put the estate under renovations for three consecutive years. Among the features added were marble kitchen floors, pub room, private screening room, and wooden floors imported from France, and believed to be part of a 200-year old château.
The estate is currently owned by Jonathan Brooks, who is a hedge fund executive. Brad and Jennifer sold the house to him in 2006 after their divorce. At the time, public records showed that Brad and Jennifer had renovated the estate and included a championship tennis court that had a pavilion and an additional guest loft.
The house sits on approximately 1.2 acres of land and has four bedrooms, a dining room that seats 20, a barroom with a traditional fireplace, a gym, and a sitting room that ushers you onto a large swimming pool on the outdoors. The house has ample outdoor living space as well. Brooks declined to respond to any queries about the listing.
Apparently, an estate just next to this one was recently sold to Australian billionaire James Packer for $66 million. That’s according to the public property records and the Hilton and Hyland which is also handling this listing. The estate next door was previously owned by Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito. That sale seems to have been the motivation behind the listing of the property. The Brad Pitt and Jennifer influence on it might just have it sold sooner than many would expect.
